A family secret since 1914, Ramos de Lo Valdivia Winery has been cultivating wine for 3 Generations. Our story begings with Nelson Ramos, the seventh brother of nine children, who was destined to carry the work of his ancestors. He was sent to study enology in Santiago by his mother Doña Elvira Tapia de Ramos, who became a widow several years before during the great crisis in Chile that occurred between 1925 and 1930. There he perfected his skill in the art of wine making and then returned to Lo Valdivia to apply his new knowledge. In a short time and with boundless passion, he expanded the Ramos de Lo Valdivia winery to cover a vast portion of the Curico Valley.
In 2001, he retired and left the winery in the hands of his eleven children. It is this generation that continues to carry the tradition of those past while evolving it by introducing modern technology resulting in wines, such as 3Gen, that are balanced yet complex with aromas and flavors that linger long after the first sip is taken. Ramos de Lo Valdivia Vines and Warehouses is located in Curicó, Chile where an excellent terroir and a privileged climate give life to several of the most desired varietals.
